DYNAMICAL DOWNSCALING OF PRECIPITATION IN NORTHEAST BRAZIL WITH A REGIONAL CLIMATE MODEL DURING CONTRASTING YEARS Cláudio Moisés Santos e Silva* Abstract The version 4 of the RegionalClimate Model (RegCM4) was used to perform high resolution (20 km) simulationsduring the autumns of 1998 and 1999 in Northeast Brazil (NEB). The RegCM4showed improvements in comparison with the dataset of Era Interim reanalysis. The experiment based on Emanuel MIT parameterization tends to overestimate theobserved precipitation while the Grell experiment underestimates it. Theresults suggest that the RegCM4 shows potential to diagnostic and prognosticapplications in NEB. 15/05/2013 (quarta-feira) às 15h00 no Auditório do DFTE-CCET-UFRN * Obs.: O trabalho foi realizado em coautoria com Aline Gomes Silva, Priscilla Telles de Oliveira e Kellen CarlaLima.
